The Gold Panda has a purity of 999/1000 and, as the official currency of the People's Republic of China, has a face value of 10 Yuan.

Since the first release of the “Panda” investment coin in 1982, it has become a classic among precious metal investment products and has enjoyed a continuously growing international fan base ever since.

On the back, the Gold Panda shows the consistent motif of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, which the Chinese emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties used to pray for a good harvest every year. Next to it is the year of minting and the country of origin, the People's Republic of China, in Chinese characters.

With the minting year 2016, the People's Bank of China stopped using the Troy weight system and introduced the metric system.
