Japan is a fascinating country. The landscape, the culture, the food, the discipline and the perfection. I especially miss the latter two here in the Western world. When I travel to Japan, I always immerse myself in this world and am very excited. Kobe is a city that is not on the usual tourist routes. Kobe itself is not particularly beautiful compared to other Japanese cities. It is located by the sea and has always been a large trading center. Kobe is also known for the sake breweries and the Kobe cattle, whose meat is considered the most expensive and best beef in the world.

Kobe also has a special garden at the foot of Mount Rokko. It is a truly impressive botanical garden, the Nunobiki Herb Garden. As the name suggests, a huge herb garden with over 70,000 herbs from 200 different genera. The Nunobiki Herb Garden can be reached either on foot or via a cable car.
In this botanical herb garden I discovered a mint that is second to none. I have never smelled such soft and floral mint. The smell couldn't let me go and I started with the olfactory implementation.

Only the mint should work and capture this mood when the sun sets in Kobe and the herbs, heated by the day, exude their full power of scent.

The scent starts with an explosion of mint. Balsamic notes, spicy notes, floral notes, all facets of mint. This is complemented by the apple, green apple, which contributes slightly gentle fruity nuances. The cooling cucumber, which with the marine notes increases the balsamic touch and absorbs the saltiness of the sea. Bergamot and grapefruit with their bitter citrus notes add another dimension that gives the composition the necessary complexity.
